Yoga for Non Yogis:

An Introduction to Yoga for those who think they can’t do Yoga!

If you have ever said “I can’t do yoga because my body doesn’t do that”  then this class is for you! Learn how to fit yoga to your body, instead of forcing your body to fit a vague idea of yoga.

In this class, you will learn…

● to listen to your body and what it needs
● how to adapt movements and poses for your body
● how to strengthen and stabilize using your core
● (and what the heck is your core anyway?)
● ways to improve your center of balance
● how to find both ease and stability in your body
● to stretch, breathe and relax!

Class structure will develop around the needs of the participants, with plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion. We will use chairs, blocks, walls, straps, and blankets to make poses more accessible. You do not need to be flexible or strong to participate. Begin right where you are!

By the time you finish this class, you will have an understanding of how to modify basic poses to fit your body, which will give you more confidence going in to other yoga classes.  This class will also give you an introduction to Carson City Yoga, and will give you an introduction to other teachers and classes you might enjoy at the studio.
