“To teach what I know is to learn what I lack. To teach requires constant learning, continual practice, and a willingness to be truthful with and understanding of the self and others.” – Dresden Truesdell

Dresden Truesdell is a Carson City native, and has been practicing yoga since the age of 15. Since that time she has spent countless hours studying and learning all that she can about the practice of yoga on and off the mat. After more than a decade of quiet self-searching and personal practice, she sought training from Kimberlee Orenstein at Yoga Loka in Reno Nevada, completing the 200 hour teacher training in 2018. She is registered with the Yoga Alliance as RYT 200, and she plans on attending more trainings as the opportunities arise.

Her teaching style is heavily influenced by Gary Kraftsow’s Viniyoga style, Srivatsa Ramaswami’s Vinyasa Yoga teachings, understanding anatomy and the importance of alignment, and the use of visualizations throughout practice to create deeper meaning within postures. She also emphasises the importance of svadhyaya (self-study) in unlocking individual inner potential.

Dresden looks forward to strengthening her teaching skills, expanding her knowledge base, building the yoga community in Carson City, and learning the lessons her students will bring.
