Angela Sullivan

“My intention with teaching yoga is to make sure that people really understand the mechanics of movement and how their bodies are unique and how they move, and to then apply that knowledge to their yoga postures so they do not get injured.”

Angela Sullivan has been teaching professionally for 30 years. She began yoga in the Iyengar tradition in 1989. She is certified by Angela Farmer and Victor Van Kooten, and has trained extensively with Ana Forrest, Bob Smith, and Rodney Yee. Over the years she has developed a unique style, informed by a variety of teaching approaches and her own personal exploration of yoga’s transformational potential. Her playful perspective makes the essential core of asana practice accessible to all; her training in human biomechanics insures a safe and supportive environment in which to cultivate harmonious and injury-free movement in our daily lives.

Angela teaches the Men’s Yoga class here at Carson City Yoga, and occasionally offers workshops in anatomy and biomechanics of movement.
